Joanna Mardon School of Dance is a local Exeter based dance school offering ballet, tap and jazz/street dance classes to a large number of students.
Although the dance school has a large proportion of ballet students it also teaches tap and jazz/street dance so the identity had to appeal to students looking for any of these dance styles.
The logo shows a graceful dancer which highlights the strong balance and style of ballet whilst also suggesting faster movement and energy more associated with dance and tap. It was agreed that the dancer was appealing to all dance styles but also with an emphasis on the schools strong ballet origin. The dance figure is coupled with a modern simple serif typeface to emphasis traditional elements but also add a modern twist.
